It was a culinary road trip during the first week. Recipes included Jucy Lucy Burgers from Minnesota, Cornell BBQ Chicken and Syracuse Salt Potatoes from New York State, Texas Beef Ribs plus 7 steps to the perfect Angel Food Cake and Lemon Pudding Cake, a delicious blast from the past. The farmer behind the Cook’s Country house decided to spread liquid manure (“honey”) on his field during the second day — nice scent during the tastings! Beautiful weather, however, and long trips through Vermont after filming on motorcycles ending with a beer at the local tavern. Week Two starts at 8AM today.

Just an observation – Erin talks too fast! We cant understand anything she says! Thanks.
Is Julia not on this season or next?
Hello everyone,
Welcome back to the “country”! The filming looks like it is progressing well..autumn days and great recipes couldn’t get better than that. Chris, up on Egg Mt my father as a boy cut down Christmas trees and then dragged the trees downtown to Salem. Did you go down into the Hollow and see the “Haunted Chimney”?

You guys are so cute! You’re like family to me in that I watch and enjoy your shows so much and love your newsletters. Love the cookbooks, too. And what a beautiful spot for filming!
I am soooo proud of my daughter Maria del Mar Sacasa being out there for 2 weeks working so hard. Great experience !
Maria is terrific by the way — smart, hard-working and cheerful! We are thrilled to have her!
I love the setting for the outdoor grilling segment. I see the leaves are beginning to drop around there already, huh!
I love your recipes, your crew, and your TV shows, magazines, and cookbooks! In fact I want to come and work for you Mr. Kimball! Tweet me at http://twitter.com/EIOBoard to offer me a job! ๐
Where is the show filmed? The vistas are just beautiful, and provided a wonderful backdrop for that yummy looking barbecued chicken.
In SW Vermont, the next town over from our family farm. Beautiful spot.
That explains the tug on my heart. I grew up in Berkshire County, Mass.
Where is Julia?
She was there this year — last year she was busy having a baby.
I don‘t know If I said it already but …Great site…keep up the good work. ๐ I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks, ๐

You don’t have any idea how many episodes I watched trying to determine if the scenery outside the windows was real. I watched for every leaf twitching, cloud moving, sun or shade — it drove me nuts. Now that you set us all straight in the “Best County Recipes” I bought today, I know it’s real and I can concentrate more on the show. Love you all. Chris, love your taste tests!
Where is Cook’s Country filmed and can I join the audience .
Please have a show about cooking with one hand. Lots of us are dealing with this, for one reason or another. (You ever try to peel a potato this way!!)
