Day Two: The Oatmeal Box Guy

Doing the opening to the shows usually involves silly hats and this is the best one so far this year. I am dressed like William Penn, the founder of PA, a quaker, and the image on the box of Quaker Oats. Hat kept falling off so it was taped to the wig.

Myself as William Penn, the Quaker guy on the box.

  1. Can you re-create the receipt that is used for the Cornbread that is shown in this months Cottage Home. The article is about N.C. BBQ and the BBQ resturant is calle Skylight Inn, in Ayden N.C. I have been trying to recreate this receipt and they do not give it out, not even to relatives, which I am. It is over 100 years old.

  2. Hey Chris:

I love the show & your recipes. However, that is not William Penn on the Quaker Oats box. It’s a generic Quaker, according to the Quaker Oats Company. No doubt, the incredible Mr. Penn appreciates the publicity (he hardly gets any these days).
